Join Benita Bike’s DanceArt for an inviting and interactive dance program on Sunday, June 3 in Culver City! See polished concert quality dance in an unconventional space. This program will awaken you to the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual value of dance by presenting dance works in a non-intimidating fashion. Culver City Senior Center, 4095 Overland Ave., 90232.
Featured on this program are dance works “Schoenfield Dances,” “For Rose,” and “In the Garden.” Brand new “Schoenfield Dances” features a rag, fughetta, shuffle, and boogie, and melds 20th century popular dance with a classical movement sensibility. “For Rose” is a tribute to the passing of the choreographer’s mother, and “In the Garden” brings an ancient, mysterious garden to life, accompanied by the sounds of night and Finnish vocal music.
