Starting at the age of 6, Shale began training with Vlad Novitski in contemporary, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop and acro, competing for 6 years. During that time he was awarded many Regional and National titles. At age 9, Shale also began studying vocal music, violin, drama, and visual arts at Claude Watson School for the Arts in Toronto. It was there that he was discovered by the Artistic Director and Producer of "A Night At Massey Hall", where he improvised a dance solo to a full house with a 20 piece band playing Frank Zappa's, "I am the Slime" . Through that performance he was approached to be in a Maxwell House commercial which was the subject of an optimism campaign, featuring "colourblind", the solo Shale had performed earlier that year. When Shale was 11, he was a finalist and judges favourite on Canada's Got Talent. From there he was cast in the movies "An American Girl: Isabelle dances into the spotlight" and "StageFright". Shale began training exclusively in classical and contemporary ballet at 13 under the tutelage of Tatiana Stepanova. That same year Shale became the Youth Grand Prix winner of the prestigious international ballet competition, "YAGP" where he performed at the Lincoln Center in New York City and was offered several scholarships, namely to the acclaimed Bolshoi Ballet School, the Houston Ballet School, Harid Conservatory, and Academie Princess Grace of Monte Carlo where he currently resides and trains with Michel Rahn (former teacher of Benjamin Milipied) and is under the direction of Luca Masala. Shale has worked with many choreographers, most notably Marco Goecke, resident choreographer of Stuttgart ballet and choreographer in NDT. He made the piece "la valse", which he created on Shale as a soloist. It was performed at the legendary Opera Garnier de Monte Carlo where Princess Caroline was in attendance. Shale also works with Jean Christophe Maillot (Director of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo) and was in the famous production of "Casse Noisette Compagnie"(showcased in 450 cinemas in Europe) sharing the stage with Bolshoi ballet Principals, Artem Ovcharenko and Olga Smirnova. In addition to being a dancer, Shale is also a choreographer. Most recently he self- choreographed a piece called "Dysfunctioning Robot" performed at the Futurum Project in Monte Carlo with Prince Albert of Monaco in attendance. In August of 2016 Shale danced the Nutcracker Male Variation at the "Gala of the Stars" in California sharing the stage with some of the most well respected principal dancers in the world, including Maria Kotchetkova, Danil Simkin, Xander Parish, and Yuan Yuan Tan to name a few.
