The best part of “Azimuth”, the Hubbard Street/LINES Ballet collaboration which had its Los Angeles premiere Friday, turned out to be the assembled twenty eight dancers themselves. Also Scheherazade (King) & A. Cerrudo's smart "Little mortal jump".
This program was part two of the Balanchine Festival with La Valse, Agon, and Rubies. Story includes comments on the entire season. While Agon and Rubies fared well, LAB versions of story ballets never seem to catch fire. Photos by Hutchinson
